What you need to have HGV lessons

 

There are a few requirements that must be satisfied before you can begin, but we always welcome enquiries from anyone wishing to begin their HGV career at our HGV training centre in Chequerbent, Bolton. According to UK law, to undertake HGV Driver training you must be at least 18 years old and possess a full UK driving licence (CAT B).

 

5 Simple to steps to become a Class 2 HGV Driver

Step 1.

Medical Assessment

We will organise for you to undergo a D4 DVLA medical assessment at our HGV training Centre in Westhoughton, Bolton. – Book Medical now

Step 2.

Provisional Licence

After successfully completing the medical assessment at our facility, you can proceed to apply for an updated driving licence. This will include an added provisional category. Rest assured, we’ll assist you with all the required paperwork.

Step 3.

Theory Test Preparation

Utilize our digital platform to prepare for your Mod 1a Multiple Choice, Mod 1b Hazard Perception, and Driver CPC Mod 2 Case Studies theory tests. Once you’re ready, we’ll handle the booking of these tests for you.

Step 4.

Hands-On Training

We’ll coordinate a specialized driver training program tailored to your needs. This course will cover both the Mod 3a Off-Road Reversing test and the Mod 3b On-Road Driving test. The duration of the course will vary depending on the type of licence you’re pursuing.

Step 5.

Professional Driver Certification (Driver CPC)

If you’re aiming for a professional driving career, we’ll align the Mod 4 Practical Demonstration training and test with your driver training schedule. Note that you’ll only need to complete Driver CPC Mod 2 and Mod 4 if you intend to drive professionally.
